Our officer board plays a huge role in shaping the experience of Higher Ground Dance Company. For the Fall 2026 semester, our leadership team includes President Sonja Glover, Vice President Caitlin Wager, Treasurer Brooke Reading, Head Choreographer Rachel Hughey, Outreach Officer Ellie Whitehead, and Internal Relations Officer Maura Baver. Together, they work to ensure that HGDC runs smoothly while creating an environment that is welcoming, supportive, and inclusive for all members.

Officer positions are filled each fall semester during our winter dress rehearsal through a company-wide election process. Members who are interested in running prepare and present a speech to the team, sharing their goals and vision for the organization. Following the speeches, all members vote, and those selected begin with an intern semester before serving two full semesters as officers. This process allows our leadership to grow from within the company and ensures that those leading HGDC are truly passionate about its mission and community.

President – Sonja Glover
As President, Sonja Glover leads Higher Ground Dance Company by setting the overall vision and direction for the team. She works closely with the entire officer board to ensure everything runs smoothly while maintaining a positive and inclusive environment for all members.

Vice President – Caitlin Wager
Caitlin Wager supports the President and helps manage the day-to-day operations of HGDC. She plays a key role in organization, communication, and making sure all aspects of the team stay on track throughout the semester.

Treasurer – Brooke Reading
Brooke Reading oversees the financial side of HGDC, including budgeting, dues, and fundraising efforts. She ensures that the organization remains financially organized and able to support events, performances, and philanthropy.

Head Choreographer – Rachel Hughey
Rachel Hughey leads the creative direction of HGDC by organizing choreography and helping shape performances. She works with members of all skill levels to create routines that are both engaging and inclusive.

Outreach Officer – Ellie Whitehead
Ellie Whitehead focuses on recruitment, community engagement, and philanthropy. From the Be Involved Fair to outreach initiatives, she helps connect HGDC with new members and opportunities to make an impact beyond the team.

Internal Relations Officer – Maura Baver
Maura Baver works to build a strong sense of community within HGDC. She focuses on team bonding, member engagement, and creating a supportive environment where everyone feels welcomed and valued.
